“Attached”

Summary — The book is described as “the new science about adult attachment and how it can help you find and keep love.” This description holds true.

Dr. Levine and Mrs. Heller spin several cases together to show the reader what it is like to have the three top attachment types:

Anxious

Avoidant

Secure

The central theme of the book is to give the reader hope for whatever attachment style they bring to the table. Through their years of relationship work and research, they offer advice and guidance for all attachment style combinations.

Favorite part — I enjoyed the tone of this book. It was written in a way that was not too collegiate or empirical. The information was presented in an easy-to-read way with dozens of examples to back up their data.

I especially appreciated the case studies they provided as examples. I learn best when given real-life examples of how a concept applies to someone’s life.

I also believe the tone will make this content more approachable for several of my clients. Some of these topics are difficult to digest, so reading other people’s stories will help them see hope for themselves…
